Striped Easter or Paste in dungi

For me Easter holidays are the most beautiful celebration, I prefer Easter better than Christmas. The feeling may be due to the cloudless sky outside, I perceive it as a rebirth, kind of a new beginning. I think the symbolism of the spiritual side merges with re-resurrected nature, rendered by the spring.

Today we’ll see how we can decorate the Easter table. As I announced on Facebook I have accepted the Bloggers challenge: DIY Easter Table – launched by Palas Mall from Iasi. So far all well and good, I was all excited, full of ideas one better then the other … until I came into possession of the kit. Panic! Panic! Panic!

What I got? – An apron (by coincidence is matching my kitchen wall watch 🙂 ), a glass vase (this is a simple job, being transparent and having a minimalist design I can unleash idea after idea in fact most of the decorations ideas were with and about the vase), a doily with embroidery on the borders (send me somewhere in the romantic, or rustic side), 3 wood eggs and a set of aquarelle plus a brush ( now we have an issue). These eggs were ‘raw’ in the way that they were not colored / drawn / painted or so… That moment when your ‘life’ passes in front of your eyes hardly trying to remember when and if you ever accomplished or even attempted to manifest your creativity on an egg. And start to evaluate how limited is you talent in painting or if is even there. As if wasn’t not enough I also found a cardboard written with caps lock STRIPES. Suddenly I felt the effect of saying “Watch out what you wish for, that might come true.” Yes, because I’ve always had an affinity for striped … on my clothes and on my car hood only.

But I was not discouraged … I’ll have a striped Easter! With a little brainstorming and two sleepless nights this is the kind of result I reached. I tried to “include” the keyword into all the decor elements, starting with napkins on plates for which I have created a ‘stripe’ made by string, carrying on with the graphics on the eggs until the floral decor elements where stripes are rendered in -a subtle way.

Until next time stay fashion!

Paste

RO

Pana data viitoare ramaneti in tendinte!

Din Iasi cu dragoste!
